In August 2005, for three weeks, my friend Catherine Duquette assisted me in an expedition to look at columnar joints in a variety of igneous rock types. We explored the varied terrain of this province: coastal vulcanism, interior desert, Caribou country, mountain ranges, and the orchards of the Okenagen.
